Cherie Benjoseph MSW LCSW
Personal Safety Educator

Cherie has been working in the field of social work, specializing in children and families, since 1989. After earning her MSW from Boston University Cherie took a position as a public school guidance counselor (School Social Worker) in Boston. There she had the opportunity to work with early intervention through middle school students, teachers and parents. She trained and specialized in violence prevention/conflict resolution, active parenting skills, and her main focus, personal safety.    

After moving to Florida, she began working as the Director of Guidance in the private sector, servicing children ages 4 through 18. After having her second child Cherie focused on finding a more proactive approach to the prevention of child abuse. KidSafe was soon created and she began to bring the message of personal safety to hundreds of children in South Florida. Her delivery style embraces both her role as a parent as well as a professional safety educator. Cherie approaches her parent and teacher workshops with enthusiasm and even humor. Parents express such comfort and relief in being able to broach sensitive subjects in such a supportive environment.

Sally Berenzweig, M.Ed, MA 
Personal Safety Educator

Sally Berenzweig is a former Psychotherapist who has a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Counseling Psychology.  She has worked in private practice as well as in business.  She specializes in psychoeducational workshops and group therapy.  Sally has worked with survivors of physical and sexual abuse and has served on the school board of B’nai Israel and as a volunteer for special needs children.

Sally became interested in teaching KidSafe after her 4 year old son at the time was not watched properly by a trusted and excellent credentialed babysitter.  Her son had opened the front door and walked out and down and across two streets before being found by a neighbor who was a stranger to him. 

Sally’s son got into the car with a stranger who was actually a “good” stranger and because her son knew his street name was brought back home within minutes.  Sally’s story has a happy ending, but most stories do not.  Sally and her husband became driven to find an adequate, quality program for their family.

Who knew that finding such a program would be so hard to do?  But it was hard to find, and after much searching, they found such a program with Cherie Benjoseph of KidSafe.

Cherie taught Sally’s son at his pre-school and she was so impressed with the program and with Cherie that she wanted to help every child receive this program.
